Lava Z25 is the upper variant of its sibling Lava Z10, but with a larger 5.5-inch 720p screen. It also boasts a 2.5D curved glass on top with an anti-fingerprint oleophobic coating just like its younger sibling. The phone offers a smooth metallic unibody body with a diamond-cut finish that reflects its strong build. More to its design has premium chrome linings on the top and bottom area if you look at the back. Lava Z25 offers a premium build overall.
Unlike the Lava Z10 which lets you the open the back cover, Z25 doesn’t offer a removable back cover. Lava Z25 is slim, light in weight (148 grams) and easier to hold in the hands, thanks to its curved edges. The Lava Z25 is bundled with a protective film, a silicon case, and earphones.
Talking about the specifications of the device, the Lava Z25 offers a 1.5 GHz octa-core processor (MediaTek MT6750 SoC) with a huge 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. The storage can be expanded using MicroSD card up to 128 GB. It is powered by a 3050 mAh non-removable battery. The specifications are somewhat identical to the 20 MP selfie camera phone Vivo V5 which is available at a similar price range.
Lava Z25 has one of the ultra-fast fingerprint scanners available onboard. Its large bezel at the bottom area looks ugly since it has no touch buttons on it rather uses onscreen navigation buttons inside the screen.
Lava Z25 boasts a 13 MP primary camera (Sony IMX258 Exmor RS) with LED flash. It can record up to 1080p videos. The camera features a bookeh mode that captures pictures with blurred background. As there is only one camera at the back, the bookeh is generated using software algorithms.
On the front side, it has an 8 MP camera with a spotlight LED flash as well. With spotlight LED flash on the front side, Lava Z25 could capture selfies lovers’ attention.
The right-hand side offers a hybrid SIM Tray and Power buttons. The SIM tray holds two SIM cards or one SIM and one MicroSD on SIM2. The phone is 4G enabled with VoLTE support. The left side comes with a volume control. Moving to the bottom of the phone, it has the standard Micro USB port, not the latest Type-C, a microphone (right grill) and loudspeakers (left grill). The top side comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack.
Lava Z25 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with a custom Star OS interface on top. The interface doesn’t offer an app drawer, everything you have is on the homescreen. The recent soft key might confuse you at the start, you need to press and hold to access recent apps.
Lava Z25 is priced at ₹18,000 and available in colors Champagne Gold and Grey colors. Lava Z25 will be available in offline retail stores.
