We had recently heard about Indian handset maker Lava’s plans to follow Sony’s footsteps to bring a selfie-centric smartphone. Today the company has officially launched the handset – the Lava Iris X5.
Lava has announced the launch of the Lava Iris X5, which is touted to be the company’s ‘Made for Selfie’ smartphone. The device has a 5 inch IPS display with OGS technology and resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage.
The Lava Iris X5 has a 5 MP front facing auto focus camera with LED flash which can take wide angle shots of up to 84 degrees. There is also a rear facing 8 MP camera with OmniVision BSI sensor, and dual LED flash. The device runs on the latest Android KitKat version with a 2100 mAh battery. The handset is priced at Rs. 8799 and is available exclusively through Amazon India bundles with an intelligent Flip cover powered by hall sensor that puts the phone automatically in sleep mode ensuring reduced battery consumption.
