A new low budget tablet has been announced by Karuma which is called the PlayBase and is said to be kid/child friendly. The tablet has a 7-inch (800×600) touchscreen display, runs on Android Gingerbread, a 1.2 GHz single-core processor, 1GB of DDR 3 RAM, 8GB of storage which upgradable with a microSD card, a front facing camera, Wi-Fi, stereo speakers and a battery life of 5 hours, 60 hours on standby.
Ashley Sayed, the company’s MD said “The idea of kid-proofing PlayBase came from my personal experience with my 2-year-old nephew who broke my tablet’s screen after dropping it on the ground. PlayCovers will offer extra grip for little hands and butter fingers and keep it safe from drops, knocks and bumps.”
The tablet comes with a PlayCover with a shock-absorbent silicone cover to prevent damage from drops and also protect against rain, spills, dirt, scratches and screen marks. The PlayCover also doubles up as a stand for the tab.
The PlayBase will be available for pre-orders from 15 November direct from Karuma in the UK, with a promise of pre-Christmas delivery and will cost £169.
