Last night while announcing the iPhone 5, Apple also went on to inform us all that the next generation of the iOS mobile operating system, iOS will be released on September 19.
The iPhone 5 will arrive with the iOS 6 out-of-the-box but if you own iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS, new iPad, iPad 2 and iPod Touch you will be able to download and install the update over-the-air or through iTunes.
The iPhone 5 will go on sale only on September 21st, so owners of the older devices will be able to get their hands-on the new iOS a couple of days earlier than the owners of the new iPhone 5.
Apple iOS 6 is going to bring in more than 200 new features to the above mentioned Apple devices and a few important ones include Google Maps being axed and Apple’s very own Maps is being introduced and Siri has learned and improved a lot than the current version.
Also now FaceTime video chats over 3G cellular network will become a reality and Facebook is deeply integrated into the iOS 6.
