Huawei is going to launch Honor 6 Plus in India next week. We got a chance to interact with Allen Wang, President Consumer Device Business Group, Huawei India. Below are the excerpts from our interaction.
Honor is Huawei’s online smartphone brand. What’s the idea behind creating a separate brand for online consumers?
Honor is an independent internet smartphone brand under Huawei. It is committed to be a global leading digital brand for mobile generation. It is a brand for users who have grown up in the Internet era and take positive attitudes towards life and is hence a brand ‘for the brave’. All the Honor products enjoy global aesthetics, super processing technology and massive patent support.
Honor was launched in India last year in October on Flipkart. How was the response?
Honor products were launched in October 2014 with Flipkart.com in India and have received overwhelming response from the customers.
Are you planning to tie-up with other e-commerce portals in India to sell Honor smartphones online?
We have an exclusive partnership with Flipkart. In case there are any developments on this, we will update you.
Since Honor is an online brand, what are the ways which Huawei is using to reach and engage its costumers?
Honor is looking at putting concerted efforts towards understanding the best and exclusive marketing model for each of its focus markets, so that it could best cater to the customers in these markets. In India, Honor recently announced the launch of its new website.
