While there have been a lot of controversies regarding the ultra-affordable Aakash tablets, the company has quietly added an upgraded version of the Ubislate 7Cz, which brings it closer to the other tablets in the market.
Although the Datawind Ubislate 7Cz went up for pre-orders a few weeks back for Rs. 5799, Datawind has listed an improved version of the device with upgraded specs. The refreshed device, though maintains the same display with 7 inch screen with 800 x 480 pixels resolution and same 1.2 GHz dual core processor, has an increased 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage.
The Datawind Ubislate 7Cz has the same 2 MP rear facing camera and a front facing VGA camera. The device has SIM functionality with support for voice calls and data besides Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. The tablet is priced at Rs. 5999, which is two hundred rupees more than the current device. The devices seem to be evolving over time from the Android v2.3 to v4.2.2.
