As we expected, Huawei has just unveiled its P8 flagship at an event in London. The Huawei P8 is the company’s flagship and it sure impresses, as we had hoped it would.
Talking about that impressive design first, the Huawei P8 features an ultra-thin 6.4 mm body and this time, the device has a full metal unibody. According to Huawei, it takes 810 minutes to craft the beautiful body out of aluminium. The Huawei P8 also features a special nano-coating to protect the stunning body from damage. Huawei has also managed to keep the device compact, as the device’s front is 78.3% display.
The Huawei P8 is no slouch when it comes to the specs. Huawei P8 features a 5.2-inch IPS 1080p display and the company has implemented a new Knuckle Sense technology, which lets you use your knuckle for various operations.
The device is powered by Huawei’s very own 64-bit Octa-core Kirin 930/935 processor with 3 gigs of RAM for your multitasking. The flagship will come in a 16 GB version, as well as a 64 GB version. The internal storage is expandable too.
Huawei has packing in a lot of camera tech in the thin smartphone. The rear of the P8 features a 13 MP camera with OIS and dual LED flash. Huawei claims the P8’s 13 MP camera is the “world’s first” four-color 13MP image sensor. There’s also an independent image processor, which is said to rival the likes of a DSLR. The software part also packs in a lot of features with a number of modes to play with. The front-facing camera is an 8 MP unit, so we can expect some great selfies.
The Huawei P8 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.1 on top. A 2600 mAh battery powers the device and Huawei promises 2.3 days of backup. The device has a new Signal+ technology under which there are two antennas, so that your data connection is not blocked when on a call. There’s Dual SIM with 4G LTE support and WiFi+.
The Huawei P8 16 GB version will come in Titanium Grey and Mystic Champagne and it is priced at 499 Euros, while 64 GB variant, which will come in Carbon Black and Prestige Gold and is priced at 599 Euros. The Huawei P8 will first arrive in Middle East, Europe and South Africa with more regions to follow.
