Huawei sub-brand Honor rolled out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Honor 8 Pro and Honor 9 earlier last month. The company even rolled out the Oreo update for Honor 7X beta testers recently. And now, the parent company itself, that is Huawei, is rolling out the Oreo update for two of its smartphones – the Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus.
The Huawei P10 and P10 Plus were both announced last year at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017. At that time, Oreo wasn’t released, hence, both these smartphones were launched with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box which is layered with EMUI 5.1 skin atop.
Well now, after more than a month from their launch, both these smartphones are receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo update. While Huawei hasn’t specifically mentioned that this is an Oreo based EMUI 8.0 update, it’s safe to assume that it actually is. After all, that’s the latest version of Huawei’s (and hence Honor) custom skin.
This update for P10 and P10 Plus is currently rolling in the Philippines, but, owners of these smartphones in other regions should expect to receive it soon.

Having said that, while a detailed changelog for this update is yet to be shared by Huawei, you can expect it to come with Oreo-specific features like Picture-in-Picture Mode, Notification Snoozing, Autofill framework and more.
So, have you received this update on your P10/P10 Plus already? If yes, how has your experience been so far?
