Huawei has today made a bunch of announcements at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona. Along with its flagship MateBook X, the company has also launched the MateBook 14 and MateBook 13 featuring FullView display.
Huawei MateBook 14 comes with a 14-inch FullView 2K+ display with an aspect ratio of 3:2. It has just 4.9mm bezels on the top and side, enclosed in a metallic chassis. The display supports 100 percent of the sRGB color gamut and 1000:1 contrast ratio. It will also be offered with an optional 10-point touchscreen, layered with the company’s own One Glass Solution.
Under the hood, it is powered by Intel’s 8th-generation Core i7 processor, paired with Nvidia GeForce MX250 GPU. It comes with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. In this device, Huawei has used its own Shark Fin Fan 2.0 that offers better air output and cooling performance.
To ensure user privacy, the web camera module has been placed underneath a key, which pop-ups when needed. It comes with Fingerprint Power Button 2.0, which is a two-in-one button that integrates the fingerprint sensor into power button for One Touch Log-in.
There’s one USB Type-C, one HDMI, one USB Type-A 3.0, and one USB Type-A 2.0 ports. Other features include Dolby Atmos support and support for Amazon Alexa as well as Microsoft Cortana. According to Huawei, the laptop can provide three hours of screen on time after a 15 minutes charge.
On the other hand, the Huawei MateBook has a 13-inch 3:2 FullView display with 3:2 aspect ratio, 2160 x 1440 pixels resolution, and a 10-point multitouch option. It is powered by up to 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor paired with up to Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU.
It comes with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB SSD. Other features of the laptop include two USB Type-C ports, fingerprint power button, 3.5mm audio jack, two speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a 41.8 Wh (3,670mAh) battery.
Both of these — MateBook 14 and MateBook 13 come with Huawei Share 3.0 software helps users transfer data between PCs and Android smartphones seamlessly. Further, both run Microsoft Windows 10 Home.
As for the pricing, the MateBook 13 starts at Euro 999 and goes up to Euro 1,399, whereas the MateBook 14 will start at Euro 1,199 and will go up to Euro 1,499. While MateBook 13 will be available from this month, the MateBook 14 will go on sale from April 2019.
