The Honor 9 has been inching closer to its release slowly but surely. Previously we heard of a June 20-21 release date for the Honor flagship. But it seems Huawei wants to get this handset to the market quickly.
An official announcement date has now been set forth by the company with the release of a poster. Huawei will now be unwrapping the Honor 9 on June 12 at a venue in Shanghai in China.
The poster also gives away some clues as to what we can expect from the device. We aren’t very sharp in Chinese but prior translations have revealed the moniker to say, “Beautiful and Colorful”. As is the upcoming trend, the poster also seems to indicate that the Honor 9 will have more color options. Recently leaked images have shown a blue, sky blue, and a yellow color apart from the regular choices we have.
As far as specs are concerned, we expect the Honor 9 to be power-packed by Huawei’s’ in-house Kirin 960 processor. The device has passed TENAA earlier and we wouldn’t be surprised to see a 6GB RAM variant with the 4GB variant. The device will likely be sporting a 5.15 inch Full HD screen. At least 64GB of storage is a given for both the variants. Rumours also pointed to an absence of the beloved 3.5mm headphone jack. We can only wait to say anything further.
As the promo image indicates, the actor is gesturing as if to take a photo. By this we conclude, the Honor 9 will also bring a better camera experience. Huawei might make the jump to a dual-camera setup for the handset as more and more OEMs are doing so. More precisely a duo of 20 and 12 MP sensors is anticipated at the back. The front will hold an 8MP sensor for selfies. The Honor 9 is also believed to house a fingerprint scanner at the front unlike the Honor 8.
