While Nokia is dominating the Windows Phone market, Huawei is trying to compete by launching the Huawei Ascend W2, which is a Windows Phone 8 powered smartphone and provides high-quality Windows Phone experience in a colourful new form factor.
The Huawei Ascend W2, which is the quick successor for the Ascend W1 which was launched at CES 2013 earlier this year, has a 4.3 inch display with resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.4 GHz dual core Snapdragon processor along with just 512 MB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage.
The Huawei Ascend W2 is equipped with a 5 MP rear facing camera auto focus camera with 720p HD video recording. The phone runs on the Windows Phone 8 OS with a 1700 mAh battery which uses Huawei’s unique power-saving technology. The device is available in Black, Blue, Red and Yellow colours.
Speaking about the Huawei Ascend W2, Kevin Ho, President of Handset Product Line, Huawei Consumer Business Group, said, “Building on the popularity of our first Windows Phone 8 device, HUAWEI Ascend W1, we created HUAWEI Ascend W2 so value-savvy people don’t have to compromise on great technology. HUAWEI Ascend W2 provides an enhanced visual experience and impressive stand-by time, and can be customized inside and out with splashes of colour.
