Qualcomm, Huawei and Bharti Airtel have today joined hands and announced the launch of India’s first LTE smartphone, the Huawei Ascend P1 LTE in the subcontinent.
The Huawei Ascend P1 LTE is powered by Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon S4 processor which is capable of handling high speed data on the LTE network and voice calls on the underlying 3G network using Circuit Switched Voice Fall Back (CSFB voice) technology.
The Huawei Ascend P1 LTE arrives with the following specifications:
- 4.3 inch Super AMOLED capacitive display
- Display resolution of 960 x 540 pixels
- 1.5 GHz Dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor
- 1 GB RAM
- 4 GB internal memory
- Expandable up to 32 GB
- 8 MP Camera with Dual LED Flash
- 1.3 MP front facing camera
- 2G/3G/4G LTE connectivity
The Huawei Ascend P1 LTE has been announced in India over Airtel’s 4G LTE TDD network in India which is currently the sole LTE network in India and is available in Kolkata and Bengaluru. Airtel is to launch its LTE service in Pune in a couple of days.
Currently neither Huawei nor Airtel has announced the pricing and availability details of the smartphone in the country but we expect to hear more from them by the end of the month.
