Just yesterday, we told you that the One M8 Windows Phone version might arrive later this year and today, we have more revelations on the same.
The device, which has been previously known as the W8 will be launched as the ‘One M8 for Windows’, if the report from Engadget is indeed true. Along with the weird name, we also get to know the release date, thanks to WPCentral. Reportedly, the Windows Phone 8.1 device will be unveiled on August 20 and it’ll go on sale on August 21 with Verizon. The device is said to become available at the Microsoft Stores starting 21st August. The device is said to be coming with the price tag of $610 unlocked.
The ‘One M8 for Windows’ will supposedly arrive with a similar metal design as its Android counterpart. The BoomSound dual front speakers, the Duo Camera and VoLTE will also be in tow. We expect the device to come with Windows Phone 8.1 update 1 on-board, considering it is said to be bringing support for interactive cases like HTC Dot View case.
The One M8 for Windows is an awkward name for sure but HTC’s Windows Phone devices have had awkward names previously as well. The 8x and 8s was launched as HTC Windows Phone 8x and HTC Windows Phone 8s. We hope the One M8 for Windows lives up to the name and is a worthy One M8 with Windows Phone, since we surely love the Android One M8.
