HTC recently started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the HTC One M8 unlocked and developer versions. Now, we know the company’s plans of updating its other devices, thanks to a new leak.
According to the leaked document, which is supposedly an accurate display of HTC’s plans, the next HTC device in line to get the latest and greatest update from Google is the last year’s HTC One (M7). The One M8 is being already updated and the One M7 should also get the update pretty soon.
The next devices to get the update in February include the One E8, Desire Eye, One M8 Eye and the Butterfly 2. Once these devices are done, then other devices like the One Max, One M7 Dual SIM, Desire 816, Desire 820u and One Mini 2 should get the update in March alongside the Chinese variants of the One M8 Eye and One E8.
HTC Desire 610, Desire 820s, Desire 510 and the One Mini from the past should be the last devices to get updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop and these devices should get the update sometime in March or April, if the document is to be believed.
While the leak does seem accurate, we’ll suggest you to take the news with a pinch of salt, as nothing has been made official by HTC yet. This is not the official list, so HTC might make some changes to the time frame. If this leak is indeed accurate, we are glad that HTC will be updating a large number of devices and we surely appreciate the good work.
