After unveiling the U Ultra last month, HTC has today launched the device in India at an event held in New Delhi.
The U Ultra is the first device launched by HTC this year. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 SoC which is coupled with 4 GB RAM and backed by Adreno 530 GPU. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat of the box and a 3000 mAh battery keeps the lights on. The U Ultra also comes with dual displays – a 5.7-inch Quad-HD primary display and a 2-inch secondary display.
The secondary display shows your top contacts, app shortcuts, event notifications and more. HTC has also introduced Sense Companion with the U Ultra which makes use of Artificial Intelligence to constantly learn from you and give suggestions. After having learned enough, the Sense Companion can suggest you to take a power bank with you or fully charge your phone based on your schedule. It can also make clothing suggestions based on the weather, like carrying a raincoat with you on a rainy day or a sweater when it’s chilling out there.
The device flaunts glass on the back and looks way too glossy. So much that buying a protective case should be the first thing you should do. HTC has also done away with the 3.5 mm audio jack on the U Ultra which means you can no longer listen to music and charge your smartphone at the same time. Besides, the U Ultra also comes with HTC USonic which adjusts the sound for a more personalized experience.
