HTC has been good with Android updates off late bringing the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to as many devices as it can. Last year, the Taiwanese company promised the Lollipop update for the One Mini 2 but apparently, that won’t be happening.
The news comes from Twitter, where the company responded to a query about the One Mini 2 Lollipop update. When asked about the update for the One Mini 2, HTC replied that the device isn’t scheduled to receive the update. The company also reasoned behind this decision saying that Lollipop wasn’t proving to be a great experience on the device.
@EdoardoBerti We determined that Lollipop on the One mini 2 will not provide an optimal experience; it isn't scheduled to receive the update

This is definitely sad news for HTC One Mini 2 owners, who were waiting for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update on their devices. The decision doesn’t come as a surprise though, considering that One Mini 2 was essentially a mid-ranger. HTC might have tested Lollipop builds on the device and the not so good performance would have resulted in the company going against their promise.
