We have some good news for people who own an HTC One M8, as the Taiwanese company is rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the device now. The HTC One M8 Google Play Edition received the Lollipop update last month and now, two more versions of the One M8 are receiving the update.
HTC is rolling out the update to unlocked and developer versions of the device. The update is rolling out over-the-air (OTA) and should take some time to reach every region of the globe. The update brings the latest Android version, which brings a new Material Design interface, new lockscreen, new notification center, new recent apps screen and more. Here’s the official changelog:
- Android 5.0 Lollipop update
- Lock screen and notification: New Lollipop UI style with enhanced privacy features
- Recent apps: Supporting multiple pages
- Addition of search function within settings
The update has the build 4.16.1540.8 and is 580 MB in size, so we’ll suggest you to download the update over WiFi. If you have a carrier locked HTC One M8, you’ll have to wait for the respective carriers to approve the update, only then will you device get the latest and greatest Android version.
So, keep checking for updates on your HTC One M8 and do tell us if you receive the update.
