The announcement of Android’s new update – Android L, might probably be the biggest announcement of this year, as Google claims it. It brings along 5000 APIs to the table, visual changes, ripple effects, new status bar, improved notifications, a battery saver and most importantly, 64-bit support. But how about the update for existing devices? Every flagship smartphone should now be thirsting for the update. While Motorola has already jumped on the bandwagon, HTC is next in line for an Android L update.
HTC has stated on its official blog that the update for both phones will be out in 90 days.
“Here at HTC, we are excited about the new features in Android L release and we can’t wait to share them with you. We are committed to updating our flagship HTC One family as fast as possible and will begin rolling out updates to the HTC One (M8) and HTC One (M7) in regions worldwide within 90 days of receiving final software from Google, followed shortly by other select HTC devices.” They stated.
So, whose next in line for an Android L update? Who will make an announcement first for its flagship smartphone – Samsung or Sony?
The race to get an Android L update is on. Who will make it to the finish line first? Let’s wait and see.
