While HTC has been focusing on affordable offerings, the company has now launched the HTC One A9, which was leaked several times before.
HTC has announced the launch of the HTC One A9, which is the company’s first smartphone in the new HTC One A series and also the first to run the latest Android Marshmallow version. As rumoured earlier, the handset looks strikingly like the Apple iPhone 6. It also flaunts a full metal body which comes with the multi-directional fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button and 4G LTE support.
The HTC One A9 has a 5 inch AMOLED display with 2.5D glass, Gorilla Glass 4 protection and resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the octa core Snapdragon 617 processor and is available in two variants – one with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage and the other with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.
The HTC One A9 has a 13 MP rear facing auto focus camera with BSI sensor, OIS, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. There is also a front facing Ultrapixel camera. The device runs on the latest Android Marshmallow version with a 2150 mAh battery. The handset is available in Carbon Gray, Opal Silver, Topaz Gold and Deep Garnet colour options and will rollout globally in the first week of November.
Speaking about the HTC One A9, Cher Wang, CEO, HTC, said, “HTC is a smartphone pioneer, having delivered the first Android smartphone, the first Windows smartphone, the first 4G smartphone, and the first all-metal smartphone. Today we’re taking that heritage of innovation to the next level, unveiling a phone that stands apart in a market increasingly dominated by a company which controls every aspect of your phone.
