While a lot of Chinese handset makers have expressed keen interest in the growing Indian smartphone market, HTC also seems to be focussing on this market and is set to launch two new handsets.
HTC has sent out press invites for a launch event scheduled to be held on July 11 in New Delhi. While the invite, as usual, did not mention any specific phone that would be launched, we presume that the HTC One (E8), which is popularly known as the Plastic HTC One would be the centre of the event. Besides that we can also expect the recently announced HTC Desire 616.
The HTC One (E8) has the exact same hardware as the flagship but comes with a plastic build. So this can be seen as the affordable version of the flagship. Should the handset be priced well, it could possibly shake up the higher end segment. The HTC Desire 616 on the other hand is a mid-range smartphone powered by an octa core MediaTek processor.
