After being in the rumor mill for long, the HTC J Butterfly (HTL23) has been made official. The new smartphone has been announced for the Japanese carrier, KDDI.
As expected, most of the specs of the HTC J Butterfly remain identical to the One M8. There’s the same 5-inch Full HD (1920x1080p) SLCD3 display, a 2.5 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and 2 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage with microSD expansion up to 128 GB.
The phone comes with the Duo Camera arrangement as well but it’s different here. The primary camera on the rear is a 13 MP one with a 2 MP accompanying depth camera. ON the front, there’s the same 5 MP camera. The device comes with dual front facing stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers. There’s Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6 on-board and a 2700 mAh battery runs the show here.
One major difference here is that device comes with IPX5 / IPX7 ratings for water and dust resistance. The connectivity options for the device include 4G LTE / WiMAX 2 + / WiFi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX codec, NFC and GPS with GLONASS.
The HTC J Butterfly will come in Rouge Red, Canvas White and Indigo Blue color variants. HTC is offering a JBL in-ear headset in the retail box while the Dot View case for the device will be sold separately. HTC hasn’t revealed the pricing or if the device will come to other markets.
