HTC has announced that the HTC Explorer will be the first Android device to offer full support for text input and display of Hindi and Tamil languages. HTC Explorer users will be able to view and compose content in Hindi and Tamil on any compatible Android application and they will have access to high quality fonts and a specially designed virtual keyboard for Hindi and Tamil.
HTC Explorer users will also be able to view Hindi and Tamil websites, making it easy to view online content. In addition, HTC Explorer users will be able to send and receive text messages and emails in Hindi and Tamil.

The company is also said to be working on expanding support for other Indian languages on HTC Explorer in 2012. This native language input and display support will also be integrated into future HTC smartphones launched in India, which is great news for Indian consumers.
There are also pre-loaded India specific content and applications including Saavn, Bollywood Hungama, NDTV Cricket, NDTV news, eBuddy XMS, HTC Flashlight, Asphalt Adrenalin, Uno and Cricket Pro.
All HTC Explorer users will be able to download Hindi and Tamil support capability through an over-the-air update starting from 23 December 2011.
