While the HTC One series is doing quite well in the market, the company now seems to be giving attention to the mid-range smartphone market, where the demand is steadily rising, with its HTC Desire series.
According to sources, HTC is working on a mid-range smartphone. The handset with plastic body comes with several variants of bright colours, more like the Apple iPhone 5C. While it was initially thought that the device would feature a Snapdragon processor, sources claim that we should see an octa core processor from MediaTek under the hood.
The new Desire handset is expected to sport a 5 inch 720p display. Also expected is an 8 MP rear facing camera with LED flash and a front facing 1.9 MP camera, the device would run on the Android v4.3 with a layer of the HTC Sense 5.5 UI. We do hope to see this device at the upcoming MWC 2014 at the end of February.
Expected specs of the HTC Desire:
- 5 inch display
- 1280 x 720 pixels resolution
- Octa core MediaTek processor
- 1.5 GB RAM
- 16 GB internal memory
- 8 MP primary camera
- 1.9 MP front facing camera
- Google Android v4.3 Jelly Bean
