While we are waiting to find out if HTC will unveil the successor to the HTC One at the MWC 2014 event, the company has unveiled two seemingly mid-range devices – The HTC Desire 816 and Desire 610 are the new phones from the company.
“This year, one of our plans is to take some of our great design and experiences to even more people. With the HTC One leading in the premium segment, it is clear there is a great opportunity in the middle of the market.”, stated HTC CEO Peter Chou at the event.
The HTC Desire 816 comes with a 5.5-inch 720p display, Android KitKat 4.4, Sense 5.5 UI and is powered by a 1.6-GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor. It features a 5-megapixel front cam, 13-megapixel rear cam, 1.5 GB RAM, 64 GB MicroSD support and a 2600 mAh battery.
The HTC Desire 610 is a little less charming with a 4.7-inch qHD display, 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1 GB RAM, 8-megapixel rear cam and a 2040 mAh battery.
While the HTC Desire 816 will be available in China from March, the HTC Desire 610 will make an appearance on European shelves in May.
