Last week, HTC’s first Octa-core phone smartphone – the HTC Desire 616 was spotted in China. Now, it seems that this phone which runs on a MediaTek MT6592 processor, might be a budget phablet priced modestly around $200. The handset is slated for a Chinese launch this month.
Besides, its octa-core processor, the HTC Desire 616 comes with other decent specs – a 5-inch 720p display, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB onboard memory, an 8-megapixel rear snapper and BoomSound speakers. The handset competes with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note, Huawei Honor 3X and Lenovo S898T in the budget phablet category.
All these smartphones, not coincidently, come with the same MediaTek Octa-core processor inside.
Off late the Chinese market is abuzz with budget smartphones and why not, these smartphones are actually selling like hot pies out there. HTC has found its own legion of success in the country by selling out 50,000 Desire 816 phablets in less than 10 minutes.
We are anxiously waiting for all these exciting budget phones to land in India.
