HTC has already confirmed that its new market strategy is to focus on entry-level to mid-range smartphones. While we have already seen quite a few mid-range devices, another one has been spotted in China.
According to sources, the HTC Desire 516 is the company’s upcoming affordable smartphone offering. The device, having a 5 inch display with resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, would be available in two variants. The first variant, which would be mass produced, would have a 1.3 GHz quad core processor with just 512 MB of RAM. However, the other variant is expected to feature a 1.2 GHz quad core processor but with 1 GB of RAM.
The HTC Desire 516 is expected to sport a 5 MP rear facing camera with LED flash. Also expected is a front facing VGA camera. Similarly, the first variant would run on Android 4.2 while the other would run on the Android v4.3. We are expecting this smartphone to be priced very decently and released globally in the second half of 2014.
