We have been hearing about the HTC Desire 12 for quite some time now. Exactly a month ago, a leaked retail box of the Desire 12 also revealed some of the specifications of this smartphone. But today, we finally know all the specifications of the Desire 12 as HTC has finally announced the HTC Desire 12 along with HTC Desire 12+.
HTC Desire 12
The HTC Desire 12, like some of the recently announced HTC smartphones, flaunts a design that’s a combination of 3D liquid glass at the back and metal frames along the sides. Moreover, the Desire 12 also sports a full-screen display with an aspect ratio of 18:9.
This full-screen display measures 5.5-inch diagonally and has a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek’s MT6739 SoC which is paired with 2 or 3 GB RAM. HTC hasn’t revealed the Android version on the Desire 12, however, it’s reportedly running Android 7.0 Nougat which is a bummer.
For photography, the Desire 12 has a 13 MP camera at the back along with a 5 MP camera on the front. As far as storage is concerned, the 2 GB RAM variant of the HTC Desire 12 comes with 16 GB of internal storage whereas the 3 GB RAM variant comes with 32 GB of storage.
The HTC Desire 12 doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner – either on the front or back – and it does come with Face Unlock feature. That said, Desire 12 ships with a 2730 mAh battery which fuels the entire package.
HTC Desire 12+
Alongside announcing the Desire 12, HTC has also announced the HTC Desire 12+. As evident from the name, the Desire 12+ comes with a screen that’s larger than the Desire 12. While the Desire 12 features a 5.5-inch display, the Desire 12+ features a 6-inch display, albeit with the same HD+ resolution.
That said, apart from the screen, the Desire 12+ also comes with a 2965 mAh battery which is 235 mAh larger than the one found on the Desire 12. Furthermore, the Desire 12+ also has a dual camera setup at the back which is a combination of one 13 MP and one 2 MP camera. On the front, there’s an 8 MP camera.
Moreover, while the Desire 12 runs Android 7.0 Nougat, the Desire 12+ runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Oh, and it also has a fingerprint scanner at the back.
Under the hood, the Desire 12+ has Snapdragon 450 SoC which is mated to 3 GB RAM, and, there’s also 32 GB of storage on on board with the option to expand the storage via microSD card.
