With the trend moving from 7 inch tablets towards slightly larger 8 inch devices, HP has quietly announced the HP 8 1401, which is the company’s affordable offering.
The HP 8 1401, which is said to be a budget range tablet, has a 7.85 inch IPS display with resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. The device is designed with slightly big bezels and is available in silver colour with a metallic finish. The tablet is powered by a quad core Allwinner chip along with 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. To add to this, HP is offering 25 GB of free cloud storage.
The HP 8 1401 is equipped with a rear facing 2 MP camera and a front facing VGA camera. The device runs on the Android Jelly Bean OS. The tablet packs in a 3800 mAh battery which the company claims would last for 7 hours on a single charge. The HP 8 1401 is priced at $169.99, which is comparatively on the lower side in the tablet market.
