If you have not been living under a rock and own an Internet enabled smartphone (well everyone and his cousin twice removed nowadays owns a smartphone with Internet, even if its 2G) you must have used Instant Messaging apps at least once. Hell even most of you must be even addicted to it by now.
Apps like WhatsApp and Telegram have taken the messaging world by storm. Growing Internet penetration and affordable smartphones flooding the market have only added fuel to the popularity of such IM apps.
WhatsApp has been the undisputed king for years now when it comes to instant messaging apps, but now, many more apps are competing to take the title. Telegram is one such free app which provides features that are missing from WhatsApp.
Today we are going to talk about one such feature which is available on Telegram but is missing from WhatsApp. Any guesses? No? Well, we are talking about the ability of Telegram to let you search and send GIFs in your chats.
How to send GIF images on Telegram
Step 1: The very first thing to do in order to be able to search and send GIFs in your Telegram chat is to have an updated version of the app. So, before you get mad over why you aren’t able to search for GIFs, make sure you are using the updated version of the app. You can download the Telegram app from Google Play Store if you haven’t already.
Step 2: The next thing you do is go into the chat you want to send GIFs to and type @gif. As soon as you type @gif Telegram will start fetching the GIFs from Giphy and will present you with some random suggestions. You can side scroll to view more options and need to single tap on the GIF you want to send.
Step 3: You can also search GIFs in different categories like celebration, dance, holidays, party, success, victory and so on. Let’s say you are in the mood of celebration or want to dance, all you will have to do is type @gif followed by keyword like celebrate or dance. For example @gif celebrate or @gif dance.
