Google has done a research based on surveys on how people use smart phones and how they influence our daily lives. Ipsos OTX carried out the survey and it features statistical facts and a video summarizing the results.
Here are some of the results:
- 81% browse the Internet, 77% search, 68% use an app, and 48% watch videos on their smart phone
- 72% use their smart phones while consuming other media
- 93% of smart phone owners use their smart phones while at home
- 95% of smart phone users have looked for local information
- 88% of these users take action within a day, indicating these are immediate information needs
- 71% search on their phones because of an ad exposure, whether from traditional media (68%) to online ads (18%) to mobile ads (27%)
- 82% notice mobile ads, especially mobile display ads and a third notice mobile search ads
Smart phones are used daily and have become a part of our lives; people use it at home, work, school, while travelling, etc. Smart phones are being used for various purposes like shopping, fetching e-mails, navigating through places and almost anything. Advertising on smart phones can prove out to be a huge success for businesses and companies selling their product, however it can get annoying for smart phone users.
