Alongside announcing the Honor 8 Lite yesterday, Honor, the sub-brand of Huawei, also announced the Honor V9 in China.
Unlike the Honor 8 Lite, the V9 packs some beefy hardware. It’s powered by the company’s homegrown Kirin 960 SoC which is laced with 4 GB RAM and Mali-G71 MP8 GPU. There’s also another variant of the Honor V9 which comes with 6 GB RAM. The V9 sports a 5.7-inch Quad-HD display and runs EMUI 5.0 out of the box. To keep lights on, the V9 ships with a 4000 mAh battery.
Having said that, the biggest highlight of the V9 is its dual camera setup at the back. We have already seen phones like Honor 8 and Honor 6X which come with dual rear cameras, and, the V9 too has them. The device has 12 MP dual cameras at the back, one of the which is the standard camera whereas the other is monochrome. For selfies and video calls, you get an 8 MP camera on the front. While this device is known as Honor V9 in China, it will be called Honor 8 Pro outside the Chinese market.
