Soon after starting the roll out of Android 7.0 Nougat based EMUI 5.0 update last week for Honor 8 in the US, Huawei is now rolling out this update for Honor 8 units in India.
The Honor 8 was unveiled last year and ran Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Well, the Nougat update will now bring in some cool new features to Honor 8 like multi-window, improved Doze mode, direct reply and much more. This update carries version number FRD-L02C675B310 and Huawei has said that it will be “available to all users in batches by end of February“.
This EMUI 5.0 update will bring an option to get the app drawer back. The Honor 8 currently doesn’t have any such option and shows all the apps on the homescreen. Apart from this, you will also get customizable notifications and status bar along with improved security.
You should get an update notification soon on your Honor 8, however, if you don’t, you can check for the update manually by heading to the Settings > About phone > System updates menu.
