Honor 6X is among the dual camera smartphones featuring two cameras (12 MP + 2 MP). HUAWEI’s sub-brand has taken its dual camera tech to its midrange division. Being the first dual camera smartphone of the year 2017, the camera takes on the midrange competition aggressively. We have spent time with Honor 6X and here is the Honor 6X camera review.

The Honor 6X has two cameras on the back, one is of 12 MP (Sony IMX386 Exmor RS) and the second is of 2 MP (OmniVision OV2680). The rear camera supports PDAF but only a single LED flash.
Honor’s camera interface provides a clean and simple UI. When you swipe from left to right, you get tons of camera modes many phones can’t offer. The camera offers more than just a basic camera.
Honor 6X has the most satisfying camera quality at its price. It performs fairly well in most lighting conditions and also even in low light areas. You get best pictures upon using the long exposure Night mode as well. It can be a solid camera for this budget.
The dual camera mode gives you a blur background effect with an option to focus manually on the objects later. The camera also lets you select the wide aperture range (f/0.95 to f/16). Most images snapped with the dual camera are almost perfect unless you capture it wrong. At some places, the dual camera mode blurs the edges of the focused object. Nevertheless, the image quality is much better than those who are in direct competition.
Considering it as a midrange device, people will neglect its two downsides which are its missing OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) support and the ability to record 4K videos. That’s kind in my opinion. Here are some samples captured from Honor 6X camera.

Honor 6X Camera Features
Honor 6X is also backed up with other camera features. There are many editing modes available such as Rotate, Crop, Filter, Splash, Illusion, Adjust, Mosaic, Graffiti, Watermark, and Label.
A magic that you can do with your photo is with the Splash effect. A special feature of Honor 6X camera that will do some color magic by using color saturation. It highlights a particular color in the image when you touch specific area to be colored.
To show you how the Splash effect looks, we have snapped some samples. That’s not it, you can do a lot with image editing modes like Illusion, Graffiti Watermark, Label.
Honor 6X Camera Review: Conclusion
Honor 6X doesn’t disappoint in the camera division since it’s the most impressive thing in Honor 6X we have ever found. You also get several camera features and modes to work on which makes your photographs even better.
Other than the camera, the specifications are more of a competent given the price. Wrapping it up, it is a value for money phone. Go for it if you’ve to spend ₹13K for a smartphone with a remarkable camera.
