Alongside the launch of the Sony Xperia Z and ZL smartphones in the Indian subcontinent, Sony also revealed its plans to launch its waterproof Sony Xperia Tablet Z. According to the company, it will launch the tablet and make it available for prospective buyers in May 2013 but we got a chance to go Hands-on with the sleek tablet.
Sony claims that the Xperia Tablet Z is the thinnest and the lightest in its category and once you hold the device, you surely feel the same. The screen measures 10.1-inch and arrives with a full-HD display resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) which gives us a crisp display.
The tablet is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad core processor coupled with 2 GB RAM and internal memory pegged at 16 GB and 32 GB.
The Sony Xperia Z tablet is water-resistant with IP55 & IP57 certifications just like the Sony Xperia Z and is the slimmest at 6.9mm and lightest 495 grams in the 10.1-inch tablet category. And when you hold the tablet, you definitely feel how light and thin this device is which feels great to hold.
The Sony Xperia Tablet Z packs in an 8 MP Exmor R back-illuminated rear camera while there is a 2 MP front facing camera for video chats.
Connectivity wise, the Xperia Tablet Z packs in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, 2G, 3G, 4G LTE and is powered by a powerful 6000 mAh battery. On the left side of the tablet, Sony has placed the power button, Volume rockers and the microUSB port.
