After the Google+ app received a feature filled update, next it’s the turn of Google Translate for Android. This update brings the much awaited offline functionality to the app.
The Google Translate version 2.6 has finally introduced offline language packages which support nearly 50 languages. Besides this we now have vertical text translation which would let you translate Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages with your camera by snapping a photo and highlighting the text with your finger.
The offline language packages, which have to be initially downloaded, are available in the app menu when you select offline languages. A list of the available languages is shown from which you have to select both the languages you are using to translate.
You can try out the Offline language support of the Google Translate app by downloading it from the Google Play Store.
