It’s that day of the month when Google starts rolling out the monthly security patch for Android. The March Android security patch for Pixel and compatible Nexus devices is currently being rolled out by Google.
This security patch is being rolled out by Google over-the-air and it generally takes around two weeks for the update to reach compatible devices, however, you can check for it manually by going to Settings > About phone > System update menu.
As always, there are two different patches for this month. The partial security patch is dated March 1 whereas the complete security patch is dated March 5. The partial patch is meant to make things convenient for the OEMs, who in most likelihood, will roll out that patch to its devices. The complete patch, on the other hand, will be rolled out to the Pixel and Nexus devices.
The March 1 partial security patch comes with fixes for 21 known issues whereas the March 5 complete security patch comes with fixes for 39 known issues. Google has stated that there were no reports of Android users being affected by any of these issues. If you are interested in knowing more about these security issues, you can head on here.
