Over the weekend there was a an interesting spotting in the newly launched Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS wherein the whole month of December was left out from the People App.
This mistake on the part of Google came into light when a Galaxy Nexus user updated his smartphone to the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and tried to insert a friend’s birthday into the Contacts list.
This was first reported to Google on November 14th and today Google has officially responded on the issue and said the following:
We discovered a bug in the Android 4.2 update, which makes it impossible to enter December events in optional fields of the People app (this bug did not affect Calendar). Rest assured, this will be fixed soon so that those of you with December birthdays and anniversaries won’t be forgotten by your friends and family.
The issue might not seem to be a crucial one but it is indeed a huge one on the part of Google who went on to miss adding one crucial month of the year, December which is the month of holidays and festivities.
Google has said that the issue will be ‘fixed soon’ but we do not know how soon it will happen. If you are one of those affected by the omission, keep a watch on a probable Android 4.2.1 upgrade’s notification to pop up soon.
