With the big Android One announcement, Google has also revealed that it would offer support for the Google Play Newsstand in India starting from today.
Google has added support for the Google Play Newsstand for users in India. Starting today, users can access news content directly from the Play Newsstand, which is the company’s news reader service. The service offers free as well as paid content. Google has partnered with as many as 30 content providers in India including NDTV, ABP News, HT, India Today and Mint to offer locally relevant content.
The Google Play Newsstand is also offering premium collection of paid content which includes magazines and other publications like Men’s Health UK, FHM UK and Esquire. The Indian publications include Times Internet’s Indiatimes, Zigwheels, Luxpresso, Healthmeup, MensXP, iDiva, NDTV’s NDTV Movies, NDTV Gadgets, NDTV Sports, Anandabazar Patrika’s ABP News & ABP Majha, Missmalini.com, HT Media’s Mint, Hindustan Times & Desimartini, Jagran, ESPN Cricinfo and TV9 Telugu.
