The Google Now launcher from Google, which was first launched with the Nexus 5 and was later made available for all devices has just been updated. The new update finally brings the Material Design makeover to Google’s launcher.
Previously, when a user installed the Google Now launcher, the launcher would mimic the interface of the Android version running on the particular handset but not anymore. With the latest update, no matter what Android version your device is running, the Google Now launcher will feature the Lollipop look.
The new update makes the Google search bar white, as in Lollipop and the transitions and animations are now a bit livelier. The Google Now panel on the homescreen has also undergone a slight change. The Google Now screen now has a slide in menu, which has the options to switch accounts, set reminders and go into Google Now settings.
So, if your device hasn’t yet received the Lollipop update, you can still get the Lollipop homescreen now, thanks to the latest Google Now launcher. Hit the Play Store links below to update the Google search app and the Google Now launcher.
