There have been rumours about Google planning something for its launcher. After renaming it as the Google Now Launcher, the app is now available on the Google Play store.
The Google Now Launcher, which was earlier known as the Google Experience Launcher, is now available on the Google Play store but limited to Nexus devices or Google Play Edition devices. The app makes it comparatively easier to access Google Now services. The Google Now services are available by swiping to left home screen. Similarly you can search on Google using voice by saying “OK Google” from the home screen.
Unfortunately, the Google Now Launcher is currently available exclusively for Nexus and Google Play Edition smartphones and tablets. However you can easily side load the launcher on any Android smartphone running Android v4.1 and higher. Also we can expect the launcher to be available on a wider range of devices soon. In the meanwhile you can download the launcher, if you have a Nexus or Google Play Edition device, from the Google Play store.
