We had heard about some interesting updates to the Google Maps at the bygone Google I/O developer conference, the company has now launched updated to Android devices.
The Google Maps for Android saw a major facelift with the new updated version 7. The app now has a refreshingly new and easy to use UI with a visible floating search bar on top of the screen that allows to quickly type in a destination address. The toolbar at the bottom is removed and the tools are placed in a drawer on the left that uses a tab to slide out.
Also with Google purchasing the crowd sourced traffic app Waze, the navigation feature of the Google Maps is being enhanced. There are live traffic updates available besides dynamic rerouting. The update is currently available for all Android devices running version 4.0.3 or higher. Head over to the Google Play Store to download the updated Google Maps app.
