While Blackberry has announced the BBM service for the Android and iOS platforms, Google today at it Developer Conference launched a new integrated chat app called the Hangouts.
Hangouts, which is Google’s integrated messaging app, is now available for Chrome, Android and iOS devices. The app primarily replaces the Google Talk app. The app is highly dependent on the Google Plus network.
The Hangout app can turn a normal conversation into a video conference which can accommodate up to 10 people. Privacy features have been well managed for this app. There are options to allow you to control who contacts you and even your circles are automatically filtered. Friends and Family Circles will be able to contact you without trouble, but more far removed Circles will only be able to request a Hangout with you. This stings can be changed at any time.
