Google released the very first developer preview of Android N (now Nougat) back in March this year and also released the final developer preview last week. Talking about the public roll out, Google will be releasing Android 7.0 Nougat next month along with August security patch.
By now, you must be already aware that Android Nougat will bring some cool new features along with it like Multi-Window Support, Direct Reply and much more. There’s one more change that Android Nougat will bring with it, however, its not a big change though. The folder preview style that we are used to will change with Android Nougat. Instead of a stack of icons showing up in the folder, you will see clipped array of top four app icons in the circle.
Well yes, as of now, only those who have a Nexus device can install the Android Nougat Developer Preview. But, if you want to see this Android Nougat folder preview style on your device as well, you are in for a treat today. We show you how to get Android Nougat folder preview style on your device, without rooting. Read on.
How to get Android Nougat folder preview style on your device
Step 1: Download the ‘Nova Launcher’ app from Google Play Store.
Step 2: As soon as you have downloaded and installed the Nova Launcher app on your device, you will be asked to set it as the default launcher of your Android device. After you set it as the default launcher, you will see an app called ‘Nova Settings‘ in the app drawer. Open it.
In the Nova Settings, tap on ‘Folders‘ and then tap on ‘Folder background‘.
Step 3: By default, the folder background will be set to Circle. You will have to select the ‘N Preview‘ option in order to get Android Nougat Folder Preview style.
Well that’s it, you now will now see the Android Nougat Folder Preview on the homescreen of your Android device.
The stacked app icons will now look like clipped array in the folder preview. Also, the normal preview shows icons of top three apps in the folder, whereas, the Android Nougat folder preview shows icons of top four apps. We actually liked the Android Nougat folder preview style. What about you?
