The Galaxy Note 8 will be the next proper Note flagship from Samsung after two years since we all know what happened with the Galaxy Note 7. It did launch but didn’t remain in people’s hands without remaining in the news (for wrong reasons). So, Samsung took it off the shelves. And since then we have been eager to see the mantle being taken by a worthy successor.
The Galaxy Note 8 release date has been subject to two rumors. One saying that it will get released at the IFA 2017 event. The other saying it will launch prior to the event in August. Now we have a South Korean news source Naver, cementing the latter. This time we not only have a month. We also have a date.
As reported by Sammobile, Naver expects the new phablet to go public on August 26 at an event in New York. Traditionally Samsung used to launch the Note lineup at IFA Berlin which is held in September. But that schedule also clashed with the biggest Samsung rival Apple’s launch date. So, the Galaxy Note 7 was launched last year on August 2.
Naver also expects the huge 6.3-inch phablet to boast of an Infinity Display with even slimmer bezels. The on-screen fingerprint scanner is sadly not going to make the cut this year if reports are to believed. That leaves the field wide open for Apple to seize the opportunity. Apart from that, we will have the Bixby assistant, the S Pen, and dual cameras at the back.
