Just the other day we saw reports about the abrupt termination of the Nexus series. While we were slightly taken aback by the news, the first rumors of the Silver certification program devices have surfaced.
According to sources, LG, which has already signed up for the mysterious Android Silver Certification program, has started working on the first device for this program. Apparently, the device would be powered by the Qualcomm MSM8994, thus at least assuring that the high-end part of program is true.
The same source had earlier revealed that there would be no Nexus 6 device as Google had terminated the Nexus range. However, the new Android Silver program, which consists of high-end devices from handset makers without much bloatware, would replace the Nexus range. However, smartphone giant Samsung and even HTC have outright refused to be part of this program, claiming that Google is trying to consolidate its power over Android by controlling the manufacturers.
