Some things are just too popular for their own good. The new Simpsons game from EA is something like that. EA had launched a game that is the combo of the wildly successful Sims and the wildly hillarious Simpsons cartoon about a week ago for free. The game, a treat for fans of both has become so popular that EA’s servers could hardly tow the load and it had to be pulled out, unfortunately.
“To make sure you current players have the best possible experience, we’ve temporarily removed The Simpsons: Tapped Out from the App Store. Yes, as a current player you can keep playing — and things should only get better as we make improvements to connectivity. Once we have a solution, we’ll return the game to the App Store so new players can join in the fun. Meanwhile, thank you for your patience and support.”, says EA.
So what was it about? Well, see, the game was loosely based on a nuclear explosion caused by Homer. The best part is that true to plot, it uses the same voices used in the original Simpsons. Players need to build up the Nuclear damaged Springfield once again using quests to gain Donuts for filling Homer’s bufoon of a stomach. You can unlock various characters and make in-app purchases too.
