Coolpad India has started sending out invites to the media for a March 16 press event held in New Delhi. While the press invite doesn’t mention anything about the device that is going to be launched in India on March 16, it’s likely that this Chinese manufacturer will launch the Coolpad Conjr in the Indian market on that day.
The invite that has been sent by Coolpad India only says “Small Packs All“. Well, this is similar to the hashtag that is being used by the company on its social media channels heavily. Coolpad has been sharing images and GIFs on Facebook and Twitter which tease the specifications of the device that will be launched on March 16.
Going by the images and GIFs that have been shared by Coolpad India on social media, we can confidently say that the upcoming device will feature an 8 MP front camera with LED flash, 3 GB RAM, metal body and expandable storage. Also, given the fact that Coolpad is using the hashtag “Small Packs It All” with all these teasers hint at the device being small enough to comfortably hold with one hand. Maybe it will come with a 5-inch display.
Taking all this into consideration, chances are Coolpad will launch the Coolpad Conjr on March 16 as these features and specifications match the ones on Conjr. The Coolpad Conjr was first unveiled in January at CES 2017. It is powered by MediaTek’s MT6735CP quad-core processor which is paired with 3 GB RAM and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It features a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display which is kept on by a 2500 mAh battery. For photography, it sports a 13 MP camera at the back along with an 8 MP camera on the front which is accompanied by a LED flash to help you take better selfies in low-light conditions. The device boasts a uni-body metal construction and also has a fingerprint scanner at the back for an added layer of security.
The Coolpad Conjr is priced at $200 (around ₹13,160). Well, that’s actually on a higher side when you consider the kind of specs you are getting. As of now, there’s no information about its pricing in India, however, we expect the device to be priced at or below the ₹10,000 mark. If it’s priced higher than that, you are better off buying the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 which provides great performance in that price range.
