Soon after Celkon announced the Millennium Elite Q470, the company has revealed that the company has partnered with Google for the ambitious Android One project.
Celkon executive director Murali Retineni has confirmed that the company has partnered with Google for the Android One project making it the fourth Indian smartphone vendor to join the league. The company has plans of releasing the first Android One device in October. Our sources also suggest that Android Chief, Sundar Pichai, will be making an India visit in October to launch the handsets.
Apparently, Celkon isn’t the only vendor showing interest in the Android One project but Intex Mobile also plans on joining the program and is currently in talks with Google for the same. Meanwhile sources also suggest that Google has set aside a budget of Rs. 100 crores for Android One advertising and will leave no stone unturned to push the phones to the customers.
