It seems that the state-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is also joining other telcos and has announced a hike in the roaming charges for its Per Second, Per Minute and General plans customers.
BSNL has hiked the roaming charges for all the plans and will now charge its users under the above mentioned plans Re.1/minute for Local on-net and off-net calling.
While the outgoing calls to on-net and off-net numbers will be charged at Rs.1.50/minute. This change is applicable on Pay per second customers too and they will now be charged per minute while on roaming.
BSNL has also hiked the incoming call rate to Re.1/minute for all plans and will now also charge its users over 50% more for Local and National SMS sent while on roaming. BSNL users will now have to pay Rs.1.50/SMS instead of the previous charge of 70 paise/SMS.
The revised rates for National Roaming for the customers of Per Second, Per Minute and General plans will come into effect from 26-10-2012.
