While there have been a few leaks of the new affordable flagship from BlackBerry, the company, which is currently focusing on the emerging markets, has announced the BlackBerry Z3 at the MWC.
BlackBerry has officially announced the BlackBerry Z3, which is the first handset to be manufactured by Foxconn as per the five year agreement. The flagship device has a 5 inch full touch display and runs on the latest BlackBerry 10.2.1. The phone is expected ti be released in Indonesia in April priced at just $200, making it the cheapest BlackBerry handset till date.
While the BlackBerry Z3 is equipped with 3G, the CEO said that the company has plans to take that phone out globally with LTE sometime in the future. Being the company’s new affordable phone, the handset is expected to be targeted towards all the emerging smartphone markets, including India. The CEO believes that the device would be very competitive in the Indian market at below $200.
